The carry on suitcase set that even Ryanair lets on board...
Just like every other Australian living in the UK I stretch my annual leave to the absolute limit every year. This means that despite the fact it's only August and I have a full time job, I've been on six international holidays, several weekends away and a few staycations.
This might just sound like shameless bragging, but with a lot of travelling comes a specific kind of packing expertise that can only be honed through trial and error. Throughout this process I've figured out the key to packing well: great luggage.
But not just any great luggage, Antler luggage. I've been travelling with four pieces of Antler luggage all year and it has revolutionised the way I pack.
Our rating:
The compact bag that even Ryanair and EasyJet won't complain about.
This overnight bag fits discreetly under your seat on planes and is the perfect accompaniment to the Clifton Cabin Bag for shorter holidays. Anything up to two weeks and I can make it worth with just these two carry-on bags.
My favourite part of the design is the back sleeve that slots right onto the suitcase handle so you can cart them both around with you with ease. If you're going on a work trip you'll be glad to know the bag can fit a laptop up to 13-inches and is water-resistant.
Having this cabin bag and the Chelsea Overnight Bag has revolutionised my travel game. I used to be one of those people who at the last minute was shoving all my bits into whatever bags I could find, but having this set has made me a lot more organised.
It has a hard shell so I'm not worried about my things getting knocked around and broken inside, and the inside is roomier than its cabin-friendly size would suggest. With this and the Chelsea Overnight bag I have enough room for my laptop, a few days worth of clothes and a couple of pairs of shoes which makes it perfect for work trips.
Any trips over two weeks, cabin luggage isn't going to work for me and I need to call in the big guns. And this suitcase is big.
If I've paid to check luggage I want to bring as much as I can with me to get my money's worth, and this lightweight but large suitcase has all the room I could need. This polycarbonate case weighs 5kg and had more than enough room to bring absolutely everything I wanted to bring on this holiday.
I was away for over two weeks and never had to do a load of washing because I had outfits for pretty much every day, all my full size toiletries, my hair dryer, and multiple pairs of shoes.
Another aspect of this luggage set I love is that they all fit inside each other like Russian dolls which means you only have to have enough room to store one suitcase, not three.
No matter how meticulously I pack my bag, within two or three days it's like a bomb's gone off inside it and I don't know where anything is. Until I discovered the genius invention that is the packing cube.
By dividing things up into tops, bottoms, swimwear, underwear and dresses and putting them each into their individual cube I can keep track of where everything is and it makes getting dressed a lot easier. I kept one of my luggage cubes empty when I left for dirty clothes so I didn't have to brave the sniff test when figuring out what to wear.
You can buy all the Antler luggage mentioned in this article as well as all their other products directly from the Antler website here. You can also buy a selection of Antler products from Selfridges, John Lewis and Amazon.
